Education Provider Certification

 

LSRE Education Institute is certified by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. The Commission’s address is 1313 Navaho Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609. Any complaints concerning the Education Provider, or its affiliated instructors should be directed in writing to the Commission. A link to the Complaint Form is provided on the Commission’s homepage (ncrec.gov).

 

Per Commission Rule 58H .0204, the Education Provider must provide each prospective student with a copy of the Education Provider’s Policies & Procedures Disclosure (PPD) prior to payment of any non-refundable tuition or fee. The PPD, which is required by the NC Real Estate Commission, outlines Education Provider policies plus the rights and obligations of the Provider and the student. A signed certification that a student received a copy of the PPD must be retained by the Provider.

 

NO STUDENT SHALL BE DENIED ADMISSION ON THE BASIS OF AGE, SEX, RACE, COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, FAMILIAL STATUS, HANDICAPPING CONDITION, OR RELIGION.

 

Special Accommodations Request Procedure

 

LSRE Education Institute complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and strives to ensure that no individual with a disability as defined by the ADA is deprived of the opportunity to participate in a course. Students requesting special accommodation must notify the Education Director at least 30 days prior to the class to allow sufficient time to make a reasonable accommodation.

 

Course Offerings

 

LSRE Education Institute conducts the annual update and continuing education courses needed to maintain a real estate license with active status.

 

Broker Continuing Education Program

 

Course Description(s)

 

Update Courses:

 

The 2024-2025 General Update (GENUP) Course is published by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission each license year. This mandatory course addresses trending issues in brokerage, complaints and disciplinary actions, and law and rule changes.

 

The 2024-2025 Broker-in-Charge Update (BICUP) Course is published by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. This mandatory course addresses trending issues in brokerage, complaints and disciplinary actions, and law and rule changes.

 

Elective Courses:

 

It takes 2 Baby! Understanding Spousal Consent and Marital Interest in NC Real Estate.

This CE elective course covers the legal and practical aspects of marital interest in real property, providing brokers with the knowledge and skills needed to identify and address spousal rights in real estate transactions. Designed to protect consumers and ensure smooth transactions, this course enhances brokers' ability to handle legal issues involving marital property and spousal signatures, aligning with current NC real estate law.

 

Course Materials

 

Students will be provided with all course materials by the start of the class. For synchronous (live online) offerings, the materials will be emailed to them at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class.

 

Eligibility Requirements for Course Completion Certificate

 

Per Commission Rule 58A .1705(a):

 

In order to receive credit for completing an approved continuing education course, a broker shall:

(1) Attend at least 90 percent of the scheduled instructional hours for the course;

(2) Provide his or her legal name and license number to the education provider;

(3) Present his or her pocket card or photo identification card, if necessary; and

(4) Personally perform all work required to complete the course.

 

Per Commission Rule 58H .0404(c), all students must complete the course within 30 days of the date of registration or the date the student is provided with the course materials and permitted to begin work, whichever is the later date.

 

All-Inclusive Tuition/Fees

 

Tuition for Continuing Education Update Courses is $55 for each four-hour course and includes all materials necessary for course completion. Elective courses, when available, are $65 for each four-hour course and include all materials necessary for course completion. Materials for the course will all be administered in electronic format via email at least 24 hours prior to the class start date and time so that students have adequate time to prepare and print hard copies of any materials they deem personally necessary. Discounts may be offered at various times.

 

 

General Information

 

Registration

 

To enroll in a course, prospective students must enroll online at LSREEI.org or by emailing info@LSREEI.org. 

 

Students should confirm the delivery method of their enrolled class as either being synchronous (live online) or Distance delivery (self-paced online).

 

All students enrolled in synchronous (live online) and Distance delivery (self-paced) courses with LSRE Education Institute will be required to have access to a personal computer equipped with a functioning camera and microphone.

 

Additionally, access to suitable internet connection which can establish and maintain video and audio capability through Zoom through the duration of the course. Students will not be permitted to complete entire courses utilizing handheld personal technology such as phones, though such may be allowed on an emergency connection basis as needed throughout the administration of courses.

 

 

Attendance

 

·        Early departures from CE courses delivered in-person or via synchronous distance learning are prohibited by Rule 58A .1705.

·        Attendance will be closely monitored, including late arrivals and early departures from class sessions and from all scheduled breaks, during in-person and synchronous distance learning courses. All time missed will be recorded for each student.

 

 

Technology Requirements for Online Courses

 

Students enrolled in one of our Synchronous course offerings may only access the course using a desktop or laptop computer. A webcam and microphone are also required. Any students connecting to the class through a mobile device will be disconnected. Students will need to download and install the most recent version of Zoom and ensure all hardware and software are working prior to the start of class.

 

Students must be in a well-lit room so they are visible on camera and must remain on camera at all times during instruction. Students are not permitted to connect from a vehicle and will be removed from the course immediately.

 

LSRE Education Institute does not provide technical support for student devices. For Zoom technical support call 1-888-799-5926. 

 

 

Student Conduct

 

Students are expected to be actively engaged in the learning process in all courses offered by LSRE Education Institute. This engagement requires the full attention of students and that they not be distracted by outside influences. Sleeping, disruptive talking or noise, engaging in internet activity unrelated to the course, texting, making or accepting telephone calls, having in-person conversations apart from classroom discussions, working on activities not connected to the course etc. are all examples of unacceptable behavior. Additionally, students are expected to be fully clothed in appropriate attire for view in public during class.

 

 

Course Cancellation or Rescheduling / Refunds

 

LSRE Education Institute reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course as needed. If a course needs to be canceled or rescheduled, we will strive to provide notice at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class.

 

If a course is canceled or rescheduled, students will have the following options:

 

Transfer to a later course.

 

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather or a local or national emergency, courses may be canceled.

 

Course Schedules

Course schedules are published separately from this Policies & Procedures Disclosure. Schedules are posted on the Education Provider’s website at

www.LSREEI.org and are also available upon request.

 

Withdrawals and Transfers / Refunds

 

A student may withdraw from a Synchronous (live online) course by giving written notice to the Education Provider prior to the start of the course. In such event, the student will have the following options:

 

Transfer to a later course for a fee of $15.

 

Refunds will only be issued for Synchronous (live online) courses within 7 calendar days of course purchase and no later than 72 hours prior to the course’s start date. Synchronous (live online) courses purchased more than 7 and less than 3 calendar days prior to the scheduled start date are NOT eligible for a refund. 

 

A student who terminates enrollment in a course either with written notice to the Education Provider or by no longer attending a course on or after the start date will not be entitled to a refund of any portion of paid Tuition.
